RE: Turntables that have stood the test of time

I've always had good luck with Pioneer, Kenwood and (some) Sony DD tables. In my limited experience I always found them pretty easy to bring back to life. And Technics tables seem pretty well bomb-proof. The only one from that list I had real trouble with was a Sony PS-T2 - i could never get that sucker to hold constant speed no matter what I did.

I also had a Garrard Lab 80 at one time that was non-functional when I got it. I found that one very easy to service and in working order it's a very nice sounding table. For me, Duals were never worth the trouble of fixing them up but to be fair the ones I got (a 1019 and a 1229) were in pretty bad shape when I got them.
