Mrs. H uses a power strip with one master and a bunch of slaves. If the master's on, the slaves are, too.
She really doesn't like "vampire power supplies" in digital equipment (like laptop and phone chargers) usin' her kilowatt-hours! :-)
The HT crowd sometimes uses similar (pricier and nicer looking) gizmos to turn on peripherals or whatever when the BIG SCREEN is brought to life.
