IF the yagi is mounted horisontal, the vertical/omni' mounted above it at the masts tip, may not have any effect

the OMNI if its whip - to be an omni - has to be vertical, best place is at the top away from the also vertical mast. Try how close you can get before there is an audible degradation.

If it is the type of exterior omni with a 'bent into a circle' quarter-wave dipole it should be as much as 10 feet away from the yagi as Ron says. start with 10 and approach 6 feet.

NB Avoiding lowering the Yagi is most important!
