In general, transformers built for operation in many markets have dual primaries. When 120V operation is needed, the primary windings are wired in parallel. When 240V operation is needed, the windings are wired in series. Note, when used in parallel the windings must be connected in phase. There can be many different approaches used to switch between the 2 modes. You'll need to figure that out, but the wiring schematic for any new dual primary transformer will show you. If you open it up and only see 2 wires on the primary, it's not a dual primary, (those have 4) and you'll need an external step down transformer. There is also a change needed in the de-emphasis circuit, Europe uses the 50us standard, North America uses 75us. This is sometimes simply a switch inside the tuner, or on the back panel. If there is no switch, you need to swap out a few capacitors to change de-emphasis. This is best done by a qualified tech who has the schematic and knows how to do it.
It's not obvious when people ask questions whether they are a qualified tech or not, but I assume you are if you ask questions that involve soldering things. If you are not, don't try to implement any changes, especially to the AC power wiring/transformer primary, unless you are 100% clear and sure about what you are doing.
