Repair probability for older tuner

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

I'm interested in buying a 15 year old high end Sony ES digital tuner ( 730ES). It appears ( can't try) to be in near mint condition. Assuming everything is working well now, what is the probability that electrical repairs would be needed in the next five years. I'm more concerned with potential electrical safety issues rather than minor usage issues. My problem is that it would need to be shipped out in order to have any repairs done( which can get expensive) and I'm not willing to compromise safety ( electrical wise) to any degree.
