I'm trying to improve the FM reception from my Rotel RX-1050. I bought a C. Crane FM Reflector dipole to replace the dipole that came with the receiver. I placed it next to the 8' ceiling and can't get a decent stereo signal across the band. I've moved the antenna so it stretches across the one window in the room and there's been little improvement. I'm within 25 miles or so of the KC, MO and Lawrence, KS towers. There isn't a local FM tower in town to check out.
The exterior of my house is done in aluminum siding. Does the siding impede reception? Is there anything that can be done before going to an antenna in the attic space or mounting an external antenna?
