Not sure where their tower is, but it's likely 40 miles or more SE of me.Trees won't block the signal, but may cause multipath. Hills will.
You can aim a Yagi straight down the throat of the station and you'll a) not need a rotator and b) probably get decent pickup of many Boston-area stations.
I keep meaning to put up a real antenna. I have an outdoor TV antenna, but it's fringe-y here and I don't want to waste the signal of a splitter's loss. I am thinking about an 'attic-mount' in our garage. This is easy to access (my roof is too steep for me) and close to the "main" FM tuner in the house for easy wiring.
Not sure if any of this was helpful, but I like talking about antennae.
