Im curious what advantage there would be to reflowing all of the solder joints like this fellow did? If the joints were not cold-soldered to begin with, why would you go to all that effort and risk creating cold joints that were not there before? Also, it appears that he did not replace the large power supply filter caps but bypassed them instead, which I would think it not an ideal solution inthis case. I was suprised how accessible the boards are and how low-density the boards are with components. It definitely motivates me to recap mine and then have it aligned.
