Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

I hope this post is allowed. I know several users here have posted about the Eico Classic Series 2200. I have a modified one and it sounds very good, though it is not my quietest tuner. Anyway here is a cheap project unit on Ebay. NO AFFILIATION, please do your own research. Dead or alive, those Mullard tubes may be an attraction.
