It's funny you said that. I just ordered an inexpensive PCB that can output square waves at 100 kHz, 50 kHz or 25 kHz. The board holds the entire circuit including a 1 MHz xtal oscillator, and it can run from a 6.3 VAC filament supply. Maybe I'll mount it in an Altoids can and put it inside the Heathkit. :)
