Hello All,
The dial pointer lamp on my McIntosh MR 74 tuner has gone very dim. I ordered a replacement bulb from McIntosh parts service for 5 bucks. Looking at the illustration of the dial cord assembly in the service manual (which contains no instructions for bulb replacement) the job might be a tricky swap. It involves placing the new bulb within the strung pointer and some delicate fine wire soldering in a tight spot. I would like to hear from anyone who has some experience with this repair. Does it requre high tech skill to pull off?
Thanks,
