That shouldn't be, and it's not the result of the output stage topology. Could be failing PS caps, incorrect bias, less than stellar transformers, or a number of other things. The first thing to do when this symptom shows up is to measure IMD. High levels of IM sometimes masquerade as "detail" or "nuance," but long-term listening creates fatigue.
