I've been thinking it would be very useful to have an amplifier that can accept both 6V and 12V tubes. I have quite a few NOS 12V6s, 12SL7s and 12SN7s, but not so many of their 6V counterparts. What I have in mind would be the addition of two rotary switches at the rear panel, one for the output tubes, the other for the pre/drivers. The switches would have recessed shafts with screwdriver slots to help prevent unintentionally setting them to the wrong voltage. Has anyone here ever built or heard of an amplifier like this?
