However, if it is not the first choke in the filter chain, it might not be possible for you. However, you're only concerned about insulation here, so if you're forced to wire it into the positive line, then you could bolt the choke to an insulated support (piece of tough plastic or something) and ground the case of the choke through a capacitor, to help minimise hum.
