RE: Which tapes to use with Yamaha KX-1200U?

Hello. Im not familiar with your deck but I can give you general ideas. Use metal for archiving. Use chrome for non critical listening. Portables and car. If you still care about sound go with metals. Music keeps longer. Stronger magnetic. You need a really good bulf eraser to erase metals. With chrome just a pass will take a lot off. I prefer Maxell MX-S on my Tandberg 3014A to TDK MA-XG!!!! Denon makes a great tape and that is my 2nd choice. Other wise TDK MAX was my favorite for years. You need to find out what tapes they set up your deck at the factory. Those will match your deck the best. A word about SONY ES. Good tape but does not hold up as good as Maxell. I record over years later and does not sound as good. Maxells do!!!!! Hope this helps. I do have some Denon metals on ebay.
