Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

Did the capstan belt, it didn't need any other rubber, has torque no problem.

Now it stops after maybe a minute of play. There is no tspe spill and the counter appears to keep working. I figure it is getting reel pulses.

Now here's the cool part - I have no way of knowing if the problem existed before the capstan belt or not. That problem might have been why it was sitting around, and it was. The belt was turned to goop and all over. That usually means it sat around. If not it would be different, I mean the goop was stuck in place and though it was wrapped around the motor pulley I had tried to run it. So maybe I did that.

What the hell else tells this thing to stop ?
