I have been casually looking for a while as I only have two (2) pre-recorded tapes.😊 I was looking for an RT-707 based on positive comments, but most offerings were either costly or had issues. I found one on an Austin Texas Craigslist ad for $500. Owner claimed it was pristine. I just got it home and hooked it up. It looks new. No scuffs or scratches to speak off, the idler wheels look great, the tape heads look unused. The owner said he used it twice and then boxed it a few decades ago. It came with three blank tapes; I have a question regarding the tapes. They are lableled Radio Shack Super Tapes, Low noise, laboratory Standard. Are these low noise - high bias that would require me to push the hi-bias button setting to on or is this simply legendary Radio Shack advertising BS and simply a standard tape? Also, are these good quality tapes aside from that? P.S., I picked up the two pre-recorded tapes shown at an HPB store for $4 each (they show up there periodically), seem's like a good price. PS, PS, where do you have your best luck finding your tapes?
