My speakers (the ones that play music in my universe) are good from about 60 Hz up to about 16000 Hz.The geometric mean of 60 and 16000 is 980. (That's the 'center' if you count octaves.) It's close enough to 1000 for rock and roll, even jazz. Maybe not bebop, but I don't listen to bepob....
