Hello,
I've posted this in a couple other forums (DIY Audio and AK) but haven't found an answer. The folks here seem really technically astute so I thought I'd give it one more try before offering it for sale as a handyman special.
Lately, when running a mm cart through the JD9's hi-level outputs and into the aux input of a Harman Kardon HK990 integrated, I'll get several loud snapping noises followed by a huge increase in volume. This causes the HK's protection circuits to kick in. My other phono pre doesn't cause this to happen.
It doesn't seem like a tube issue and I can't see any caps that look bloated or burst. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.
