RE: Krell-Link remote protocol

I too just got a Krell FPB 300 and want remote switching into and out of "standby" mode. It appears that you need to buy a "Krell Trigger" device to convert 12VDC to the "Krell Link" connector on the back. I would expect that the Krell Link protocol is a serious of midi commands, perhaps system exclusives.

Krell Link runs about $234. I expect it's a device which sends proper midi code when it receives 12VDC, and another code when 12VDC shuts off.

Seem overpriced? It's a tiny fraction of the cost of actual Krell components.

However, last year I bought a similar device from an online manufacturer to send midi codes on DC on/off. You could program it to send whatever series of midi codes you wanted. (Of course, you need to send it midi codes to program the midi codes it sends...). And guess what, it also cost about $200. The company also had lots of other similar products. For one that just sends one midi signal, selectable for DC on or DC off, they wanted about $120.
