You are correct! The 20 amp outlet should be able to accept either the standard plug, or the one with the left blade horizontal, a fact which is easily overlooked by someone who does'nt have any eqpt. with that special plug, like me. As this pertains to the original question, the outlets could be inspected visually (the left blade socket will be shaped like a "T" leaning to the right side on the 20 amp versions) and checked/matched with their respective breaker with a test lamp. As to which type of plug is better, or even necessary in an audio system, I'll leave to others.
