Not sure exactly which forum to post this to, but ...
I found one surplus (LN) 750VA for 29.99 (ok, another $25 frt) and could not resist trying as I've done nothing more than three dedicated circuits for my systems power "tweaking."
I won't describe the improvement this beast made, but I found it amazing.
But ... it buzzes. And it is not load dependent as it is silent as a mouse with everything on, except my Cary V12R, and only when I turn on the B+/bias tranny. If just the filaments are on (standby), it does not buzz, and that's a pretty good load. If just the high voltage rail is on, the Topaz physically buzzes, even though really very little current is being pulled on as I've not flipped the filaments on yet. No current running in the tubes.
I've tried every possible combination and it just appears to be some sort of feedback or oscillation with just that one circuit, I really have no clue, but it is audible at idle and does give me a slight buzz in the tweeter as well.
Can I fix this and how? Will it damage anything else?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts ... most appreciated.
Thom
