Put a "2S" in front of the number

Many Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) transistor manufacturers drop the 2S in their part numbers due to space limitations.

The "2" stands for Two P-N junctions. (Bipolar Transistor)

The "S" stands for Silicon.

So since the vast majority of transistors are bipolar silicon types. the 2S is left off the number and implied.

The letters A,B,C,D are polarity and freqency responce.

A: PNP HF transistor
B: PNP AF transistor
C: NPN HF transistor
D: NPN AF transistor
