Hi.
Ideally least or none inductive or capacitive components should be put in the signal path the better given the purpose of electronic X'over you are using.
A cap can block any DC in-rush, & of the right value, can suppress any low frequency pops killing your tweeter. But then you got to find out if the cap of such value will do the pop killer job without affect the highs of your tweeter.
