Considering all that has been said on this, it is likely that there is no dc to block. Typically circuits that use op-amps with the input and outputs at 0 volts use non-polar caps to be able to handle the possibility of dc offsets in either polarity. It is possible that the cap could be removed with no problem. To test this measure the dc voltage with respect to audio ground on each side of the cap. If the dc voltage is zero, plus/minus a few millivolts, you could simply remove the cap.
