That is just what I wanted to hear. A good friend is a hifi technician, he has a scope. I should have thought to ask him, but didn't think about a scope until you suggested it.

Anyway, I can get a rough estimate without a scope and verify at his shop afterward. It is a tube amp so clipping waveform will be more subtle.

Glad the math is easy. I can extrapolate that method to test power at 2, 4 6 and 8 ohms. My speakers do dip to 2 at low freqs.
