LCR meter question

I am trying to measure the inductance of a crossover inductor i have it taken out of the circuit. I am using a extech LCR meter and it has a series or parallel mode and a freq. of 120 Hz or 1000 Hz I get a different reading when going from a parallel reading to a series reading any idea what to use series or parallel ? and what freq. do I use . This is from a tweeter crossover. I read in the series mode .778 dcr ohms .389 Mh at 1000Hz and at 120 Hz the same . I get these readings in the parallel mode .87 dcr ohms 2.789 Mh at 120 Hz and at 1000 Hz I get this .428Mh and dcr of 8.54 dcr ohms ? My guess is the series mode is what the correct reading is but seek the advise of you experts. The speaker is a Alon 5 a 3 way type with a crossover board for each driver tri wired.
