Nichicon Corporation of Japan, having plead guilty to one count of felony horizontal price fixing and bid rigging in July 2017 by the Antitrust Division of the DoJ, was assessed a revised fine of $54.6M by the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California. Additionally, foreign regulators have also issued fines totaling $132.8M, for a total of $187.4M.
Nichicon joins other well known names in the capacitor business that were also caught up for the same charges in indictments spanning the last several years. Most of these are squealing guilty and taking a plea deal and subsequent fines.

Hitachi Chemical-$3.8M fine, 6/16
NEC Tokin-$13.8M fine, 1/16
Rubycon- $12M fine
Elna-$3.825M fine
Matsuo Electric

Indictments have also been issued against specific individuals associated with some of the mentioned companies:
Tomohide Date - NEC Tokin
Satoru Miyashita - Rubycon
Takeshi Matsuzaka - Nippon Chemi-Con
Yasutoshi Ohno - Nippon Chemi-Con
Masanobu Shiozaki - Nichicon
Kiyoaki Shirotori - Rubycon America, Director

There is no indication this investigation is over. Nice detective work, but considering the FBI was/is involved...unsurprising.
