Shills actually don't make a difference when a large numbers of consumers and sellers are in the market and it is hard for either group to hide relevant information about product performance.
Shills are irritating, i agree, but they do no ecomomic damage in our world. The real fools are the companies that think they can and pay these idiots.
A shill, by the way, is quite different than a person who wants to attract attention to a product she loves.
