My amps are around 3yrs years old, but there is a big switch on the top plate to change between an 845 and 211. It comes with a pair of each from the factory, Shuguang tubes. It also comes with a pair of current Genelex 300B's.
I swapped out the 211 with a pair of GE's when I got the amps, and ran a pair of 90's WE300B's until one of them died. The WE300B's on the amps now are the current production version.
Running the GE VT-4C's, with the WE300B's bias is set to 60mA, I don't have a clue that things are amiss (as I have no idea how to even measure plate dissipation of the 211). I wanted to try the moly plate 211 and didn't want to spend that much for a pair of Elrogs, and so opted for the PSVane/Audionote UK 4242E's. The plates on the 4242E's are very thin - they replied that the max plate dissipation for them is 70watts. I've been using the WE300B and the GE VT-4C combo for years now, until the 4242E's.
