Hi,
I would like to improve my listening room’s acoustics. I already made some progress when I bought 4 tritraps and two panels from GIKs. They work well although I would like to step further. One of the alternatives would be to put some more bass traps in the corners, absorbing panels on walls, diffusiors on the ceiling etc.
However I am also considering to have a dropped ceiling built first. My room is almost square 5.05m x 4.85m with 3.15m height, both the floor and the ceiling is made of concrete, the floor covered with woodfloor and some carpet. Based on my infos gypsum boards covered with 10cm of mineralwool plus 20 cm space behind them would have a positive impact on low frequencies. On the other my room is too „live”, echoing quite a bit so I will have to treat the mid-highs as well.
Do you think it worths to built an acoustic ceiling first and tune the room later by buying more acoustic panel as a second step or would you go for traps/panels/diffusors only?
Regards,
Csaba
