Hello, One of my first questions concerns the fiberglass. I have only been able to find Armsteong ceiling acoustical tile. It looks to be fiberglass to me.

It is 5/8" thick by 2'x4'. Of course it can be doubled or quadrupled up. Do I remove the facing that faces the 1/4" plywood? I know to remove the facing between stacking sheets.
Would it be better to make the panel a 1X6" rather than 1X4" with 2" or more of fiberglass? Would this capture lower bass? Would it be more effective, and then afford me to use less bass traps?
Are the air gaps in front of and behind the fiberglass critical in there depths? Your design shows a 1/2" to 3/4" airgap and 2" behind the fiberglass.
Thanks,
Bob
