Hi Ethan, thanks for your speedy reply!I am building your bass traps (the ones with the 1/4" plywood, 1" fiberglass and 1x4 framing). Mine will be built with a 3/4" MDF backing since I will not be mounting them to the wall.
Therefore, is it ok to make a "thicker trap"? One with more fiberglass (2") and with a 1"x6" frame? The fiberglass would be 2" thick sitting on top of the 2x2s. The air gaps in front of and behind the fiberglass come out to about the same as in your plans.
Is this overkill? Or is there no such thing as overkill in bass traps? :)
I plan on building these deep-bass traps for 4 corners and then several of the mid-bass and high-bass ones from your site.
