RE: A Question for All...

The main reason for lower gauge is primarily to allow for higher current, the number of moving electrons per unit time is a function of the cross section area of the conductor. So low power systems, e.g. horn systems with 3 watt amps, speaker cables could have considerably higher gauge and provide great sound. Ditto for headphone systems, even moreso.
