True. Allan is the only one who has shown anything.

If the mode of action is some sort of "quantum effect" or whatever crap Geoff would have us believe, it doesn't matter what's between the two layers. Do you know the energy that would be needed to have a photon tunnel through even that small a thickness? And, of course, if you're using quantum dots (or other similar descrete quantum material), the act of pressing between the two metals will basically destroy the quantum effect you would normally see with the descrete material.

In any event, I believe that Allan's electron micrograph shows that there's nothing between the two layers.
