RE: Hopelessly Naive Microphone Questions

Does your client know that you don't have any experience in this area?

Yup! I'm actually the sculptor. The 'clients' are a couple of musician friends who I used to play in a band with a long time ago: they're based in Europe and I'm in the US. They heard what I was up to and wanted samples to to exchange to see if we could do some kind of intercontinental, over-the-internet freeform thing.

Do you feel that it would be better to tell them to find someone who is experienced and has the necessary equipment?

The sound sources are in a barn in the rural midwest. There aren't a lot of recording pros around here; there's not much call for an amplified corn field or a miked cow! Thanks for your input though!
