Home Computer Audio Asylum

Music servers and other computer based digital audio technologies.

Being a Mac user since I rejected 1968 technology, DOS, in the late 1980s and buying my Mac, I have used Macs. I was happy when I first heard a music server using one with a Weiss dac. Firewire was their preference. Since then I have had USB input dacs. Presently I have a BMC DAC202 PRE into which the Mac I have must use USB. Alternatively, I can use my Weiss and go into the PRE portion through RCA analog inputs. It is clearly superior. Now BMC will soon have an asynchronous USB input. I guess I will try it, if it is not too expensive. I should not that BMC optimizes their dac/preamp for their own cd transport and does have SP Dif, AES/EBU, and toslink inputs.
