any video editing/computer processor savvy inmates here?

This may be a bit OT, but I originally posted this question in the Video/HT section and didn't get any responses. It was recommended that posting here might yield better results.

I've just upgraded my video software to Pinnacle's Studio 10 Plus Media Suite. It's a large program that has numerous features and is rather easy to use. Unfortunately, my computer (eMachines T2792) was not originally intended as a video editing workstation. I have made several changes and upgrades in order to make it more video editing friendly: added a second hard drive (200MB) for video capture only, added a firewire port for video transfer from a digital camcorder, increased the RAM to 2GB, added a dual-layer DVD writer and decreased the number of running/open processes/applications to lessen the demand on the system.

The next item on my list is the CPU. It's a basic Intel Celeron processor operating at 2.7GHz. I'd like to upgrade this to something that will better handle the demands of video editing that are most CPU intensive, namely rendering (after editing, all of the compiling that is done before output to media). The motherboard is a TriGem Imperial GV, the max L2 cache is 256k (that's what eMachines says), it is 400/533MHz FSB capable and it supports mPGA 478-pin processors.

Here's the bottom line: what Intel Pentium 4 processor(s) can I use to replace the current Celeron processor?

Thanks for any answers and/or helpful insights you can provide.
