Has anyone compared the EMU 0404 USB to their other PCI products?

Hi,

I recently picked up an E-MU 0404 USB to try out on my second system. I am surprised at how good this DAC sounds. I have not had any dropout or CPU utilization issues even when outputting 24 bit 96k with VST plugins in the stream. The only thing I don't like is that there is no way to logically route an output back to an input (Patchmix software is not available for the 0404 USB).

I still have about 12 days left on the trial period and am wondering if any of their other current products offer substantially better sound. Please let me know your thoughts if you have directly compared the 0404 USB to either the 1212M PCI or the 1616M PCI. I am mainly interested in the differences in sound for DA conversion.
