Well we have what we have... Lots though are using USB which merges them. Though don't they always have to converge at one device on some level?
FWIW I have moved on from "computers" to an Ipad as a source. Can always unplug it from the wall and just use batteries. No streaming so no wifi, etc. Just audio.
