Home Computer Audio Asylum

Music servers and other computer based digital audio technologies.

Well

A 16 GB stick isn't practical unless you have a tiny music collection. Having said that, I occasionally use an Oppo player in the HT with a 400 GB microSD card that contains all my digital music.

I think what's most important is how you connect your DAC. I am not a fan of attaching a DAC directly to a general purpose computer via USB.

My digital library along with media server software lives on a NAS (with mirrored SSDs) located in the office far from the primary music systems. It connects to the tiny players via Ethernet or WiFi providing isolation.
