On the pc front, I would be wary about the IBM as they may well come out with a new product range, with the takeover.Look at the Sony VAIOs. They are more expensive, but compare to other laptops, mine worked like a dream! I have had 2 Dells, and there is some software/hardware issue with both of them. The latest on my D505 is that it will not go into suspend and come out of it with a USB dongle!
