Re: The issue is whether Ralph is being hung out to dry...

I have heard from a source that I will not yet divulge, that the answers to Rush's questions are unfortunately not to Ralph's benefit and may be to his extreme detriment. I believe that the silence ensuing after Rushton's post is as emphatic an answer to Rushton's 3 questions as an affirmative answer.
I am a relatively new AS owner, and have experienced nothing but cordiality from Mark and Harry in my short conversations, prior to all this happening to AS and Ralph; however, also in this relatively short period I have been unusually struck by the vigor, passion, caring, vision and depth of caring of this man, who will do anything possible to ensure the satisfaction and, unwittingly, loyalty, respect and friendship of his customers. He behaved as a creator of a pleaure-making device that he wished to share and in order to share this pleasure, he would make sure that questions were answered and that things were done properly and correctly. There was no political correctness or corporate smarminess; no attempt to earn a buck by doing an unnecessary upgrade or sell anything - just a sincere, upfront, straightforward approach to doing what was essential to keep the gear functioning and make the music sound as good as his long-range vision always intended it to sound - without a whiff of a businness/dollar/what's in-it-for-me message, which pecuniary taint is instantly recognizable to old men like me, who have been around the block a few times. Pure professional caring for his product and the user thereof. Period. The reason that there has been this outcry is exactly that - Ralph has meant more to us than the seller of a commodity. He has exemplified an art, a creation and a dignified pride in it that has not been encumbered by the almighty buck. I think that is where this is at.
Now, I am told he could be restricted from plying this craft, this art of his.
Well, I for one could not sleep well at night if this were allowed to happen without a protest, a whimper, or better, a shout, from me. Even more, I am prepared to not buy an expensive interconnect or component for a while and start a fund for Ralph's legal fees, if this is where we are.
I believe in justice, and even without knowing any of "the other side", I would feel that an injustice were done if someone of Ralph's ilk were denied the liberty to pursue his happiness, and, of course, but merely incidentally, the audio community from sharing it with him.
