Dark Atamasphere MA1.2

I have a MA1.2 (14 tube) connected to a stacked Quad 57. Current tubes are Sylvania VT231. I have tried Sylvania chrome domes, and 5692 also. The sound is tonaly really dark.All the high seem to be there, just very low in tonality. My Music Reference RM9 mk2 don't sound like that, nor does the MA1.2 on my Sound Lab A3s. I have used Zeros, 10, 12 and 14 6AS7, speakers in 8 or 32 ohm configurations. Maybe I'll need tube rolling in front end? Any ideas.
