The MP-3 is a smaller unit because it has less of a power supply and fewer tube sections to
drive the output. It may well be adequate for someone with short and friendly interconnect
cables, or a less-resolving amplifier and speaker setup. If you have exotic interconnects,
however, and want to get the best out of them, the MP-1 is the clear preference.
