Each MA-1 monoblock dissipates about 500 watts. If you had five of them, you would need
a sizable air conditioner running all the time. M-60s reduce the heat load roughly in
proportion to the number of output tubes.I'm fortunate in living where it is usually cool in the summer mornings, so that the heat from
two of these is not a burden. It is welcome in the winter. In the summer, they raise the
temperature in my listening room a couple of degrees F per hour.
