Hi Mark,
You recommend selected Mullard CV4024s for the phono section of the MP-3/1. I've ordered a matched set of 7 Siemens 12AT7s from Watford Valves here in the UK because they reckon this tube is more neutral (midrange not "overblown"). I'm a tube rolling novice so I'd be interested to know whether you've tried premium, matched Siemens 12AT7s. Is it reasonable to suggest a particular brand of tube for a preamp when there are so many other system varibles to consider? My tubes won't be selected until Monday so there's still time for me to change my mind!
