We swapped out the osc tube (which tested good) but no change. The photoresistor may be an issue but we found a retired McIntosh tech from the tube era. He's going to take a look at it. He feels it's probably the capacitors in the 19Mhz transformer. Apparently this is a common problem with the MR71. I hope so, if I still have problems I'm going to sell the '71 and get another '67. They're pretty close sound wise IMHO.
