Atma-sphere amps questions, Please help.

Hello all,
I recently became interested in the Atma-Sphere amps. I have owned many transformer tube amps, but never OTL's. I have decided to go with the MA-1 MK II.2's, but I do not know what to expect. Are these amps easy to live with? I know they put out alot of heat. I would like to know how many hours the tubes last. I am using a Conrad Johnson ART preamp. Will this Preamp alter how the amps are to be biased? How much is replacement costs on retubing both amps?
