Personally I've gone over to the combination of 6N1P and 6N30P in Mullard type circuits. These have different pinouts (6922 type) and higher filament current, but the sound of the combination is very nice, and they are medium and low mu respectively. No guarantees of what circuit changes are necessary with the M50. Andy
